Reviews of The Blue Crab

Julie S. – Broomall, PA

Hub always needs a reason to head to Bethany Beach, so instead of going to the The Blue Crab for my birthday lunch on Sunday, 27 May 2012; we sat in the new space called the Bethany Oyster House. Casual, upscale, contemporary interior filled with 8′ granite high-top tables with tall bar stools or you can sit at the oyster bar or the bar. Wall art still needs to be hung on the walls, but we were there for the food. The menu for the Oyster House has lots of raw bar options, brasserie type salads, sandwiches and small plates. You can order from The Blue Crab menu, but can’t have steamed crabs in the Oyster House room.

We started off with dz. clams on the half shell, small tender little neck clams from Virginia served up ice cold, briny with cocktail sauce and extra horseradish. Ordered the calamari fritte, fried oysters(6) , baked oysters Blue Crab(4), soft shell crab sandwich and fried chicken wings.

“Our New Favorite Bar”

We have a place in Bethany Beach and over the summer we visited the Oyster House several times and always had a good experience. The food is very good and the wine list decent. We recently went back (to check on our house after Sandy) and had a great dinner. The oysters and crab dip were delicious. My husband got the Beach Salad with crab and it had over a cup of lump meat crab, while I had the Ceasar Salad with fried chicken. Both were excellent. The owner, Tim, took the time to get to know us. Very nice staff that were attentive.

“Exelente servicio y atencion.”
